Essential Question:  Why does 9.99999... = 10?

Content Objectives:  The students will be able to...

• Define the sets within the real number system.
• Define closure.
• Determine which sets are closed under the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, ,and division.

Language Objective:  The students will be able to explain if a set has closure under a given operation both orally and in written form.
